Vigilant Family Protection Wireless Door Alarm with Transmitter and Second Room Alert System (PPS-913KIT)

  • 2999

Crime Statistics : 2,000,000 home burglaries are reported each year in the United States. About 30 percent of all burglaries are through an open or unlocked window or door. Homes without security systems are up to 300% more likely to be broken into. And, renters are just as likely to be the victims of property crime as homeowners.

Vigilant wanted to create an easy, so-it-yourself home alarm system that was simple to install, simple to use, and affordable. We wanted something to offer simple protection to alert you to not only an unauthorized entry, but also unauthorized exits from wandering toddlers or home care patients. No monitoring fees, no contracts, and no hassle. So, we created the Vigilant PPS-913KIT Wireless Door Alarm with Transmitter and Second Room Alert System. Not only does this system monitor the door for authorized or unauthorized entry, but it also alerts a second location wirelessly using the Second Room Alert System.

You install the small magnetic strip on the door using the included 3M adhesive tape, and the larger control box sticks right next to it on the wall. When someone opens the door, the gap between the magnetic strip and the control box will trigger the alarm. The keychain remote control can be used to arm or disarm the system from as far as 100 feet away (depending on obstructions). It has a shrill alarm when in alarm mode, but can also be set to chime mode which produces a chirp alert when the door is opened. The Second Room Alert System also alarms, indicating a breech of the door has occurred.

  • Built in 120dB door open alarm control box with low battery indicator
  • Second Room Alert System with wireless transmitter and receiver
  • Do-it-yourself 3M adhesive for 60 second installation
  • Chime mode and alarm mode
  • Wireless remote control with arm/disarm buttons and A27 battery (included)
  • Control box runs on three regular AAA batteries (included)
  • Standby time of up to 8 months on a single set of batteries, based on opening the door 5 times per day

We recommend you replace the batteries any time you have an extended use of the alarm to ensure that you always have strong batteries in the unit at all times. It takes regular AAA batteries, the first set of which are included. You can replace the batteries from the access door on the front of the unit without removing the unit from the wall. You can also replace the remote battery with a standard A27 battery (available at any drug store) and the remote battery will generally last around 10 months under normal daily use.
